Vitters Shipyard has officially delivered the 44.3-metre sailing superyacht W-Magic, a sleek and performance-focused vessel that has now set sail for Cascais, Portugal. Previously referred to as hull 3093, the yacht was launched earlier this year in January from Vitters' facility in Amsterdam. Now, just a few months later, the completed yacht is making her maiden voyage—a proud moment for the Dutch builder and the dedicated team behind her construction.

W-Magic was designed as a fast cruising sloop, combining sailing performance with the kind of comfort and attention to detail expected in a modern superyacht. Her exterior lines come from the drawing boards of Reichel Pugh Yacht Design, a renowned U.S.-based studio known for creating high-performance sailing yachts. The result is a low, clean profile with smooth, contemporary styling. Her hull is finished in a cool grey tone that gives the yacht a crisp, refined look on the water.

Inside, the yacht reflects a different kind of elegance. The interior design is the result of a collaboration between British studio Design Unlimited and Belgian designer Pieter Laureys of TKI. Their approach was to create a space that feels both modern and welcoming, with a strong connection to natural materials and light. Wooden panels throughout the yacht add warmth, while a full-length skylight running through the deckhouse brings in abundant natural light, brightening the living areas and creating a sense of openness.

Outdoor living is also a key part of the W-Magic experience. Two distinct seating areas on deck allow guests to enjoy different views and wind angles while underway or at anchor. There’s also a dedicated sunbathing pad for quieter moments. Expansive deck spaces are available both fore and aft, offering space for lounging, entertaining, or simply enjoying the sea breeze. One of the standout features is the transom area, which can be transformed into a large beach club space close to the water. This flexible design offers direct access to the sea, making it easy for guests to swim, relax, or launch water toys.

Construction on W-Magic began in early 2022, and over the course of the build, the project team faced and overcame numerous challenges. From the earliest design phases to final commissioning, the process involved close collaboration between designers, engineers, craftsmen, and the yacht’s future crew. According to project engineer Jan Albert de Jonge, it was this teamwork that made the difference.

“The strength of this project was our collaboration as a highly cohesive team,” de Jonge said. “Everyone took ownership of their responsibilities while collectively tackling every challenge. The most rewarding part is starting at the drawing board and, in the end, seeing a stunning, fully realised yacht come to life.”

That sentiment was echoed by Vitters’ sales and marketing manager, Bas Peute, who emphasized how the team remained focused on the owner’s goals throughout the build. “The project team worked intensively together to fulfil the owner’s requirements of building a safe and comfortable superyacht that also performs well in all weather conditions,” Peute explained. “It’s that balance—safety, comfort, and capability—that defines W-Magic.”

Beyond her aesthetics and layout, W-Magic also introduces several modern technical innovations aimed at improving performance and sustainability. Among these are two “submarine” anchor systems—specialized units that retract flush with the hull when not in use, reducing drag and preserving the yacht’s clean lines. The yacht is also fitted with a “peak shaving” battery system, which helps manage energy loads more efficiently by storing excess energy and redistributing it when needed. This kind of system is especially valuable on a yacht designed for long-distance cruising, where consistent energy management is essential.

Additionally, the yacht includes twin V-drums located in the forepeak. These are used for managing the sails and allow for smoother and more controlled operations, particularly during offshore sailing or in challenging weather conditions. Every element of the yacht, from her rigging to her mechanical systems, was chosen with reliability and functionality in mind.

Vitters has built a strong reputation for building high-quality sailing yachts that combine performance, comfort, and engineering excellence. With W-Magic, the shipyard has once again delivered a yacht that reflects its values and craftsmanship. The yacht is not only technically capable, but also thoughtfully designed for life onboard—whether the owner is crossing oceans or enjoying a peaceful weekend anchored in a quiet bay.

Now on her way to Portugal, W-Magic begins the next chapter of her journey. While her final destination remains private, what’s certain is that she will turn heads wherever she goes—thanks to her graceful design, innovative features, and the dedication of the team who brought her to life.
