The Maldives continues to cement its reputation as a global yachting hotspot, with an increasing number of superyachts making their way to its pristine waters. In December 2024, the 57-metre Vector, the 62-metre Anawa, and the 55.7-metre Galileo were seen docked at Faro Marina, showcasing the island nation’s growing appeal among elite yacht owners and adventure seekers.
Vector, a 57-metre motor yacht built by Benetti in 2018, is a striking example of Italian craftsmanship. Featuring a steel-hulled displacement design, Vector boasts an interior by Luca Dini and accommodates 12 guests across five staterooms, supported by a 14-member crew. With twin Caterpillar diesel engines producing 1,470 horsepower each, she reaches a top speed of 15 knots.
Beside her, the 62-metre explorer yacht Anawa, delivered by Damen Yachting in 2020, is built to Polar Class standards, offering up to 30 days of autonomous cruising. Designed for adventure, Anawa features two spacious tender garages, a dive store, and a fully functional helipad. Meanwhile, the 55.7-metre Galileo, delivered by Perini Navi in 2011, has an impressive history of global exploration, having completed two full circumnavigations, including a passage through the Arctic’s Northwest Passage.
